This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Department of the Defense Prevention Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities Responsible for planning, organizing, and determining the 1) associated training, 2) estimated costs, 3) required staff / line management coordination, and 4) phases of work needed for successful completion of the project plan. Determines feasibility of prevention activities for implementation in a military environment Integrates comprehensive primary prevention efforts through coalitions and partnerships within and outside of the military community. Ensures there is proactive communication and collaboration of prevention activities in the military community. Advises local leadership on how to address risk factors and develop protective factors. This is a DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) position in the NH-03 broadband with an advertised pay range from the lowest equivalent GS grade 12 Step 1 to the highest equivalent GS grade 13 step 10 in the broadband. This position is covered by control points to account for variances in position responsibilities within the broadband. The Control Point for this position NH-03, Supervisory Prevention Specialist (Prevention Lead) (Prev WF) is $99,200 to $153,354 including locality at the rate of 33.26%. Management will set the selectee's pay for this position within the control point salary range consistent with the qualifications and education of the selectee and the expected contribution for the position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. AND Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1.) Developing comprehensive prevention plans for the prevention of harmful behaviors; 2.) Advising and educating leaders on primary prevention activities; 3.) Analyzing data and processes of harmful behavior contributing factors; 4.) Identifying risk factors and developing protective factors. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
