The Steam Turbine component Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing stationary turbine technologies enabling world-class Steam Turbine performance and efficiency. This is a critical role requiring both system level knowledge of turbomachinery safety (overspeed) and detailed mechanical component expertise to design the power producing component within the turbine.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Own ST component design in execution of NPI, OTR, and RTS activities for new units and aftermarket services

• Drive technology advancements from a Shaftline System, subsystem, component and material / life vantage points

• Collaborate with global & cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders (Drafting/Global Supply Chain) enabling & fostering mutual technical growth and delivering for our customers.

• Follow rigorous NPI Tollgate Process from Conceptual Design thru field validation for all bucket/blade component designs across the full spectrum of Gas Power turbine configurations. Lead and review appropriate engineering analysis to ensure robust designs that meet all required CTQs.

• Demonstrated excellence applying fundamentals of Mechanical Design, including material properties, statics, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, lifing methods related to fatigue (LCF & HCF) and creep. Finite Element Analysis and / or CFD capability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience

• Strong engineering experience in turbomachinery rotating components design

• Proficiency in English

• Legal right to work. We will not sponsor individuals for legal permits or visas.

• In case of being a GEIQ employee, you must currently occupy the same sublevel or one prior as the proposed sublevel for this position.

• Experience in Steam Turbine component design, including ST casings, valves, bearings, pedestals, and LP Hood designs, design process & procedures

• Demonstrated clear thinker, with ability to manage conflict and derive solutions to complicated problems

• Demonstrated Project leadership skills with the mindset to handle several competing tasks

• Familiarity with the full manufacturing process including: forgings, machining, and factory assembly/ testing practices, specifically as applied to power generation equipment

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, The base pay range for this position is $88,600.00 - $147,600.00 USD per year.

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
