ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manager, Central Activation and Planning role combines budget management & operations for the Central Activation Planning & Agency Management Team. It leads central activation budgets and operations that supports in market activities and “At Scale” National program deployment to focus on supporting everyday brilliant execution.

Additionally, this role will work closely with Trade Development and Diageo Brand Teams on financial planning, budget, and operations strategies & support for in market activation.

This role will help to lead simplification efforts across central, brand, and in market teams from an operations perspective.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Effectively navigate shifting budgets & operations that support in markets activities and central function needs

  • Understand financial systems & processes and how to optimize and create simplification

  • Responsible for handling the budget that must be focused against central oversight of A&P budgets and spend

  • Leads specific operational work streams that will allow for simplification and amplification across central activation and in market teams

  • Understand what activities/growth drivers work for region and brands that this role would support

  • Collaborate & run various agency partners to deliver against execution of marketing plans including but not limited to agency staffing, asset management, performance reporting & analytics, and production of activation tools

  • Activity performance tracking and reporting for assigned region and brands

  • Planning partners with CP&A on all feedback and insights, for brand activation to fuel the right activities for markets/regions

  • Partners with agency teams/CP&A/other central functions for all operational requirements of in market activities

  • Partners with commercial in market teams on implementation and roll out of several marketing levers including in outlets experiences, local experiential events, and merchandising

  • Lead agency performance for region & brands this role would support

  • Compliance – we will always be Diageo Marketing Code, regulatory and legally compliant

Key Outputs

  • Lead and be responsible for the day-to-day budget management & operations for assigned brands & regions

  • Refine the way we think/behave/operate specific to operations and budget management

  • Create, lead, and simplifies operations within the Central Activation & in-market Trade Development Teams

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field

  • Strong budget management & reporting skills required

  • Commercial or marketing experience required (+5-7 years)

  • Must have strong communication skills with experience working across matrix organization

  • Ability to navigate complex organization, and bring operational skills that simplify and amplify ways of working

  • Decision making & solution oriented: comfortable making quick decisions and finding solutions in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong financial management skills:should be able to keep organized financial reporting and support all Diageo compliance controls associated with them

  • Resilience, comfortable with changes and ability to challenge status quo are important
