Diageo Demand Planning Analyst in 3 World Trade Center, New York

Job Description :

Purpose:

The Demand Planning Analyst position is responsible for all SAP APO monthly and weekly statistical forecasting activities in addition to handling the low-level forecast and data integrity! This role will lead all statistical forecast parameters and collaborate with the Demand Planning Business Partner to support the monthly S&OP process. The Analyst will own and drive statistical forecast accuracy performance to achieve the agreed upon targets!

Decision Making / Top Accountabilities:

  • Generate a baseline 24-month statistical forecast model using the SAP APO system. Determine and maintain all statistical parameters used to drive a ‘best fit’ model.

  • Collaborate with Demand Business Partner on all history cleansing activities, trend adjustments based on historical shipments/depletions and provide S&OP support.

  • Maintain master data parameters that include but are not limited to the CVC creation, attributes and disaggregation factors and ensure all forecasts are being passed to Supply Planning.

  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify drivers of error and take corrective action to drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and bias performance.

Financial Responsibility:

  • The Demand Planning Analyst leads the statistical forecast accuracy metric which will influence the finished good inventory and safety stock levels to drive customer service targets defined by the market.

Management Responsibility:

  • Pro-actively works with the Demand Planning Continuous Improvement Manager and the Demand Planning Business Partner to improve the statistical forecast and maintain data integrity of the low-level forecast.

  • Participates in all monthly S&OP sessions with the Demand Planning Business Partner to understand market drivers that could potentially impact the statistical trends.

Complexity of Role:

  • Knowledge of statistical forecasting methodologies and strong analytical skills.

  • Responsible for generating statistical baseline forecasts and maintaining low-level data integrity for the DBC portfolio.

  • Using the critical metrics to influence partners to allow statistics to drive the planning process.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations / Supply Chain Management or related business field

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience working within the Demand Planning and/or Supply Chain process; Consumer Packaged Goods Industry preferred

  • Strong analytical, organizational and decision-making skills, to support this a proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; Excel, Word, PowerPoint is required

  • Baseline understanding of the end-to-end Supply Chain Planning processes; Supply Planning, Distribution Requirements Planning, Inventory Planning, Conversion, Logistics, Procurement and Customer Service
