Amazon Sr. Program Manager, XB Air in 11, China

Description

The Global Logistics team is seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager to establish and manage cross border Air arcs. This role will be responsible for the full lifecycle of air node development from a zero base to scale. Included in this role is a deep understanding of transportation optimization to reduce cost, improve speed and drive reliability. This role will work against tight deadlines and requires someone to take pride in execution through exemplary planning. This role will also be responsible for establishing standard operating procedures towards scaling to new origins/destinations/carriers and informing product roadmaps.

In this role the Sr. Program Manager will understand cross border transportation networks, regulatory frameworks relevant to cross border air (customs, DG, etc.), and partner and carrier capabilities and requirements. This person will manage integrating logistics service partners (both ground/air) into the network and matching functionality of new carriers with the Amazon network. This person will translate technical process into technical process documents and drive metric development for the operation.

This role can sit in Shanghai, Beijing or Shenzhen.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • Familiarity with international air logistics and customs clearance processes

  • Specific knowledge of US, China and/or EU air transport regulations (e.g. DG, FDA) and logistics infrastructure

  • Skills in developing operational launch plans

  • Experience writing and managing a detailed project plan, driving implementation, establishing metric and testing schema throughout the process

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and business people, with both internal and Logistics Service Partners
