Job Summary

This role leads Sanford World Clinic (SWC) technical and clinical data analytics across a portfolio of systems and infrastructure regarding mission critical applications such as the electronic medical record system unique to Sanford World Clinic. Facilitates the planning, design, installation, modification and operation of these applications in collaboration and direction from the SWC leadership team. This role is responsible for the transformation of information and data that can be used to support clinical or operational high-level and day to day decision making for the planning, managing and implementation of functional technology. Defines and develops strategic intelligence information in support of executive-defined objectives, and delivers decision support to operational, clinical, and executive leaders. Provide analytical support for strategic and day to day initiatives and business and clinical operations. Oversees system maintenance, production activities and the planning process by collaborating with SWC leadership and vendors. Works with teams to identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements in business processes. Clearly defines the business requirement and the opportunity for improvement; gathers information, maps the process, analyzes results and validates information. Ensures solutions identified are in line with business and strategic priorities.

Builds out capabilities and processes to gather, analyze, and disseminate data from multiple sources. Works across the organization and their partners to connect and facilitate exchange of information, data, and insights to support strategic and day to day operational and clinical decision making as directed by SWC leadership. Responsible for extracting and mining data sources across multiple third-party systems to support the strategic planning process of existing business lines and new business opportunities.

Provides primary subject matter expertise on strategic applications to the organization and their partners. Will work with SWC leadership to provide strategic direction on development and maintenance of mission critical applications including an electronic medical record system unique to Sanford World Clinic and their partners. Along with SWC leadership, will assist in providing oversight to managers, project managers, development engineers, and support staff to assure effective operation of mission critical applications. Prepares cost estimates for current and proposed projects, reflecting the technical, process and staff requirements. Communicates with executive leadership to assure strategic plans are in line with and supported by mission critical applications.

Ability to be flexible and pivot quickly based on the client needs. Self-motivated and ability to take initiative with a limited supervision a must. Ability to use Smartsheet as a project management tool

Travel to international and domestic sites required. Fluency in Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Informatics, or related field required.

Minimum five (5) years’ applicable work experience required.

This position requires a combined knowledge of computer science with a background in clinical care. The role includes supervising internal data collection as well as outsourced data collection, designing and implementing systems to collect and report clinical data, compiling and organizing data in secure databases, and training team members on how to use a facility’s internal data systems as well as summarizing and reporting data. Other duties include maintaining systems and databases that keep data safe while abiding by regulatory standards that govern health informatics

Minimum of 5 years or more of experience in healthcare related field or applicable healthcare information technology preferred. Office 365 experience including PowerBI required. Google Workspace experience. Previous experience within a IT helpdesk environment also preferred.

Applicable certifications preferred.
