JOB SUMMARY

The Digital Outreach Advocate role is a new and innovative way for Peace House to provide education, outreach, and direct support to survivors affected by interpersonal violence, specifically sexual violence victimization. This position will leverage digital platforms to advocate for our cause and provide support to individuals in need, aligning with our commitment to reach diverse audiences and expand our outreach efforts. Please NOTE: This is a new, part-time position currently funded through June 30 (Fiscal year end) with a high likelihood of funding continued through July 2024-2025 fiscal year.

The position will play a unique role within the Sexual Assault Team, boosting our capacity to reach an array of audiences through the creation of innovative content and materials and enabling us to respond swiftly to events and media stories. The Digital Outreach Advocate will assist to monitor and moderate social media platforms and be trained to provide 1:1 support to individuals reaching out for support via technology.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Implement digital advocacy strategies across various social media platforms, with a specific focus on promoting sexual violence prevention efforts and providing resources for survivors.

· Craft compelling and informative content aimed at supporting survivors of sexual violence, actively engaging with individuals affected by violence.

· You will be instrumental in expanding our social presence across platforms, growing our brand awareness, driving engagement and play a key role in our digital marketing strategies

· Remain current with the latest social media trends and adopt best practices for leveraging technology to possess or effectively communicate with survivors of sexual assault.

· Schedule daily posts on various platforms while tailoring content to each channel's audience

· Collaborate closely with our Sexual Assault team to develop innovative outreach campaigns and establish streamlined referral pathways.

· Utilize data analysis to assess the impact and efficacy of posts and campaigns, optimizing strategies to achieve maximum results.

· Actively participate in our online community, promptly addressing inquiries and providing support to survivors.

· Demonstrate a capacity for rapid learning and integration of training materials to gain a comprehensive understanding of the intersecting interconnected issues related to interpersonal violence: including child abuse, bullying prevention, bystander intervention, trauma-informed principals, teen dating violence, healthy relationships, and sexual violence primary assault prevention and intervention.

Team Collaboration:

· Actively participate in weekly team meetings, engaging in discussions and contributing insights.

· Attend professional training sessions as directed by the supervisor to enhance skills and knowledge.

· Fulfill responsibilities assigned during weekly meetings and actively serve on Peace House, Inc. committees.

· Collaborate regularly with the Director of Support Services and Director of Marketing & Communications to ensure project plans and communications remain mission focused and within brand guidelines.

· Maintain clear and professional communication with staff, volunteers, and constituents to fo ster a collaborative environment.

Data Reporting:

· Ensure all client referrals are entered into the Apricot database immediately upon receipt to ensure timely follow up.

· Enter all client-related notes on a y support follow-up within 24 hours of service.

· Accurately input data relating to outreach projects into the Apricot Database on a weekly basis to ensure the integrity of information.

· Provide weekly summaries of projects to the Director of Support Services for review and feedback.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with agency staff and any other organizations, individuals, and community partners important to the success of Peace House's work.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites, Design software such as Canva and/or Adobe products preferred, or a demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire proficiency in these tools.

· Experience managing & creating online content across various platforms

· Creative thinker with a keen eye for design and storytelling

· Must successfully pass a background check, ensuring suitability for employment in roles involving vulnerable populations.

· Demonstrated experience in working with vulnerable populations, showcasing an understanding of their unique needs and challenges.

· Ability to complete 40 hours of CORE Domestic Violence (DV) and Sexual Assault Training within 12 months, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing knowledge and skills in these critical areas.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience Preferred, demonstrating a commitment to professional development and expertise in relevant fields.

· 2+ years of work experience creating engaging social media content

· Video creation and editing capabi lities

· Previous experience in social services, illustrating a dedication to supporting vulnerable populations and promoting well-being within communities.

· Demonstrated knowledge of domestic and sexual violence dynamics, underscoring a comprehensive understanding of these critical issues and their impact on individuals and communities.

· Experience working collaboratively with Spanish-speaking, Native American, and LGBTQIA+ communities, reflecting cultural competency and a commitment to inclusivity and diversity in service provision.
