Welding Instructor

Location: Lehi, UT

Status: Full-Time

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8-hour work days. Shifts may vary according to program need

Pay / Salary: $53,504 - 60,000, depending on experience

As a Welding Instructor, your role is to provide classroom and lab instruction to welding students to prepare them for employment in the welding field. WELDING INSTRUCTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Instructing students in the classroom and lab to achieve competency in all Welding Technology and Pipe Welding Processes program requirements. Ensure that Welding and Pipe Welding meet COE standards for completion, placement and licensure.

  • Demonstrating and teaching proper welding techniques with the FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW welding processes, as well as the OFC, PAC, and CAC-A thermal cutting processes.

  • Inspecting and evaluating welds performed by students, giving meaningful feedback and advice on how to improve weld quality.

  • Oversees the maintenance of a clean and orderly training area. Models and teaches good work habits.

  • Assist with lesson planning and curriculum development.

WELDING INSTRUCTOR QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Must pass all Qualification and SENSE written tests within 6 months of employment to teach Welding Technologies.

  • Obtain an OSHA 10 Certification with 6 months of employment

  • Minimum two years of relevant work experience.

  • Must be knowledgeable in course content, as evidenced by education and experience, effective in directing and evaluation student learning in didactic and laboratory performance
