BURN MANUFACTURING Country Manager - DRC in Kinshasa, United States

About the Role:

BURN is seeking a Country Manager to coordinate all activities in DRC . DRC is set to become BURN’s most important market in 2024, with multi-million-dollar distribution projects for wood and charcoal.

The in-country team leads will report directly and functionally to the vertical lead at HQ, and with a dotted line to the Country Manager. The role of CM will be coordination and operations alignment to ensure the business runs smoothly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To coordinate all local initiatives, tasks, and people activity ensuring things are done on time and in the right manner as guided by HQ.

  • Facilitate cross-functional in-country team meetings.

  • To engage local stakeholders including regulators where necessary and as guided by HQ.

  • To coordinate any legal, audit and other issues that will require a local hand and as guided by HQ.

  • The go-to person for OPCO issues including financial probity, employee & customer satisfaction.

  • To develop and execute a localized pricing strategy that balances the affordability, willingness to pay and attractiveness of PAYGO services for the local market while ensuring the sustainability and profitability of our PAYGO business.

  • To ensure the com p any participates in local relevant marketing and/or government events to promote the brand, and as guided by the relevant Global vertical Lead.

  • To ensure employees are engaged and are doing what they are tasked to do per the KPIs from Global Vertical Leads.

  • To ensure that the country teams are working in appropriate office facilities that are clean, safe, and conducive. Also ensures the safety of in-country field teams.

  • Coordinate input of required data onto the weekly cash-flow tracking sheets and their prompt submission to Finance every week.

  • Tracking actual spending versus planned spending as captured in the weekly cash-flow tracking template.

  • To lead all the B2B sales within the country and manage the relationship with various local distribution partners to meet Burn’s B2B sales objectives.

  • Helps to maintain Burn Culture in the country and ensures diversity and inclusion.

    Skills and Experience:

     

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).

  • 8+ Years of proven experience in a senior management or executive role, preferably in a Manufacturing, FMCG or in a similar industry.

  • Strong knowledge of the local market, industry trends, and competitive landscape.

  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.

  • Financial acumen and the ability to manage budgets and financial performance.

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, changing environment.

  • Strong commitment to ethical business practices and compliance.
