About the role

The CBRE Design Collective (DC) is responsible for performing audit services related to Energy and Sustainability needs of CBRE clients. This position will be required to both perform/ execute a variety of energy audits but will also lead/ manage other members of the DC in their efforts to perform/ execute the audits. The audit types range from Assessments, ASHRAE Audits, Decarbonization Audits, Water and Waste audits. The work around decarbonization includes assessments of switching from gas-fired to electric equipment (e.g., heat pumps, VRF systems) and building envelope improvements, among others. The work will be both remote and site based in nature. Collaborating with a large cross functional team, you will have the ability to engage as a leader as well as an individual contributor. This position is a key member of the team and with the opportunity to work across all business sectors on all types of buildings.

You must possess an outstanding blend of business and technical experience, have advanced communication skills, direct experience in the energy efficiency market with a solid background working in the field.

What you’ll do

  • Provide timely and accurate audits services, acting as a project manager to ensure cradle to grave success.

  • Train and manage internal CBRE staff, coordinate deliverables with account teams and clients.

  • Lead auditors, coordinate result deadlines, and incorporate their findings into a full energy/decarbonization audit report.

  • Run the timeline and data collection duties required for a successful audit report.

  • Provide QA/QC review of audit reports before they reach the account teams and clients, including supporting detailed cost estimates.

  • Support the project team in developing presentation for the client outlining the findings and recommendations of the report.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) from four-year, accredited, College or university. Preferred fields of study such as Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Sustainability, Building Science, Environmental Studies.

  • Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Carbon Auditing Professional (CAP), or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) required.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of performing Energy Audits, or equivalent.

  • Greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory reporting experience or training preferred. Training and accreditation part of development and performance management requirements.

  • Experience with Building Automation, HVAC systems, building construction.

CBRE Carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this Technical Director position is $160,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $180,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental Insurance, Health Insurance, Life Insurance, and Vision Insurance.
