Job Overview

The Respiratory Therapist (RT) provides family-centered care as demonstrated by recognizing the patient, family and/or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for patient's preferences, values, and needs. Department Name: CSH Respiratory Care Job Status: Full time, 36 hours per week Shift: Nights. Three 12 hour shifts per week.

Qualifications

Education: Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy/ Care is required at the time of hire. Bachelor's degree in preferred. Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience delivering respiratory therapy/care Certification(s): Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 90 days of hire Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire if working in Medical/Surgical and/or Emergency Department Achievement and maintenance of a National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentialed as a Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist (RRT-NPS) or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) if working in an Ambulatory setting preferred. Licensure(s): State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Respiratory Therapist license

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential functions. Assesses and evaluates unit delivery of patient and family centered care, incorporating the respiratory process while providing developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive, evidence-based care within a defined clinic environment. 2. In an Ambulatory setting, performs all Respiratory diagnostics to include but not limited to Pulmonary Function Testing (spirometry, lung volumes, helium-dilution, DLCO), Bronchoprovocation-Exercise Induced and Methacholine Challenges), Impulse oscillometry, Bronchoscopy Assist, Respiratory Education/care coordination. 3.
