Position Details: Hartford HealthCare St. Vincent’s Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant to join their Acute Care/Trauma team. The successful candidate will be responsible for various functions including responding to trauma activations, consulting on acute care patients, first assisting in the operating room in robotic, laparoscopic and open cases, bedside procedures, and daily rounding on admitted patients. Our Surgical Services team consists of several APPs who work in collaboration with a variety of surgeons including trauma, general and subspecialty surgeons. In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists. Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician. Requirements: * Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible) * Training: Physician Assistant Preferred Requirements: * Experience: 2 years’ PA experience preferred, however, we recognize the value in new graduates and are willing to train the right motivated candidate.
