Due to growth, we are currently seeking applications from experienced Senior Mechanical Engineers to join our highly performing Architecture and Technology team based at our Norwest Campus.

Let’s talk about the role:

At ResMed we focus on capability and passion. The role will be responsible for the successful performance of the mechanical engineering activities necessary to develop architectures and technologies from clinical states through to technology solutions within ResMed Quality Standards achieving the overall performance requirements of new product families.

In this role your duties will be rewarding and challenging and as such you will take full ownership of the following responsibilities:

• Innovatively challenging the status quo and researching disruptive technologies to de-risk potential technology solutions for delivery to Product Development while showing excellence in documentation, presentation and communication of work.

• Implementing appropriate engineering methodologies such as: CAD, CFD, FEA, robust statistical methods, problem-solving techniques and risk-analysis methodologies (e.g. FMEA).

• Design of experiments, test/measurement capabilities and prototyping for tests and proof-of-concept.

• Operating with a high level of autonomy whilst collaborating effectively with, and seeking input from team members and other areas of the business including marketing, manufacturing, clinical and regulatory affairs to ensure the technologies being developed are appropriate and satisfy targeted requirements.

• Designing with consideration to requirements relating to marketing needs, the needs of our patients and customers, human factors / useability, patient therapy performance requirements, environmental factors and design for manufacturing and assembly.

Let’s talk about you:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, we expect that you have gained the experience working with junior engineers and will seek to take responsibility for driving the design process. Your written and verbal communication skills, sense of urgency and ability to work independently and within in a team will see you as our preferred candidate.

You will be degree qualified in Mechanical, Biomedical, Mechatronics or equivalent and have experience working in a regulated industry.

Knowledge of FEA and/or CFD codes such as ANSYS Workbench and ANSYS CFX as well as knowledge and experience in medical industry will be highly regarded.
